Angled, windswept, storied

This tree moves through space at a deliberate angle — not fully horizontal, not reaching for vertical, but committed to a lean that carries the canopy both outward and upward in a single sustained gesture. It is a tree shaped with water in mind: the kind of form that belongs leaning out over a pond, extending past the edge of a poolscape, or sweeping above a patio where its shadow shifts across stone through the day. At the base, something rare. The living trunk twists around old dead wood as it curves up and out of the nebari — one of the most unique trunk features in the collection. It is the kind of detail that stops you: living tissue wrapping ancient structure, the whole history of the tree visible in one glance at the root line. Above, the canopy is kept deliberately spare. Fewer branch pads, each one placed with a simplistic windswept design in mind — the classic shore pine silhouette, stripped to its essentials. What remains is open space between the pads, light moving through the branches, and a form that reads cleanly from every angle. With a ten-inch caliper and ten feet of spread, this is substantial wood carrying real presence. The kind of tree that becomes the reason a space exists at all.
